Premises Liability

Premises liability is the area of the law where a landowner, landlord or other possessor of land is responsible for injuries suffered by persons who are hurt on the premises due to a variety of hazardous conditions. These include but are not limited to uneven pavement or flooring, standing water, crumbling curbs, wet floors, un-cleared snow, icy sidewalks and parking lots, falling objects, inadequate security, insufficient lighting, hidden holes, faulty stairs, among other defects.

These injuries may be substantial especially if involving broken bones or blows to the head. Slip and fall injuries are also considered a part of premises liability cases and are customarily vigorously defended by the landowner or other possessor of land, who blame the person falling for their own injuries. During the course of my career, I have been involved in many premises liability cases with successful results.
